Special Education
I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Cum Laude, with a major in English Literature.
I have been teaching Special Edcation for 20 years, first in Grapevine-Colleyville where I taught at both the Elementary and Middle School levels. I have been working at Nocona Elementary School for the past four years.
Prior to moving to Montague, I worked in the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District for 20 years. I worked at the administration building, then moved to Dove Elementary School where I was the Administrative Assistant to the Principal for two years before I began teaching. I have been teaching now for 24 years including the past 7 here at Nocona Elementary School.
I have been married to my wonderful husband David for 43 years and we have three grown children. My daughter Chelsea and her husband have five kids, ranging in age from 7 to 14. My daughter Kelly has two elementary school children, making me the doting Nana to seven precious kids. My son Dylan lives with his fiance in a home he built in Montague. My husband and I have a spoiled cat, a Rat Terrier, an Australian Shepherd, plus numerous chickens and Brangus cattle. We are very happy to have made the move from the metroplex to Montague County!
After spending nearly 20 years in the middle school setting, I have really enjoyed coming back to elementary school. Many of the students I see are very eager to learn, which is refreshing. I am working on fostering that desire to learn in all of my students. When I am not at work I enjoy reading, gardening, and working on our home in Montague.
