The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is a new teacher evaluation system for the state of Texas designed to support teachers in their professional development and help them grow and improve as educators. Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, Nocona ISD was one of 60 districts to pilot the new teacher evaluation and support system. Nocona ISD will continue to refine the new evaluation and support system in the 2015-16 school year.

The T-TESS Rubric provides the framework to define and demonstrate how the domains, dimensions and descriptors support teachers as they implement strategies in ways that address students’ learning needs. There are sixteen total dimensions within those four domains, five in Instruction, four in both Planning and Professional Practice and Responsibilities, and three in Learning Environment.
