Getting the Most for Your Money
Since Texas is a large state, several organizations in the state, representing schools and governments, have been given special pricing on technology as well as all other products. The Director of Technology has a list of these bids and can contact a sales representative promptly when purchases are to be made.
The Director of Technology should always assist with the purchase of Technology equipment and software. She can usually locate either the exact equipment required or find a suitable equivalent for it at a reduced price.
There are three main bids that cover most purchases. They are DIR, TCPN, and TIPS. DIR covers most products made by Hewlett-Packard. TIPS covers most software titles, while TCPN covers most computer manufacturers.
